Key aspects of my role are engineering, administration and trainer/assessor. As an engineer I provide:• First line breakdown support• Maintain tools and equipment for maintenance• Source and maintain critical spares stock• Source specialist services; i.e. fabrication of specialised trolleys, welding repairs, etc.• Coordinate routine in-house maintenance in such a way as to not interfere with production schedulesMy administration duties include:• Negotiating and maintaining contracts with outside contractors• Scheduling PPM and breakdown visits by contract engineers• Inducting engineers visiting site• Issuing permits to work using the RSF ePTW system• Writing SOP's• Carrying out risk assessments• Raising requisitions for purchase ordersAs a trainer/assessor I have written a comprehensive guide to the use of IVC's and present this as a training course for animal techs and support staff.
