As a recent graduate with a Master’s in Mathematical Physics from Heriot-Watt University, I have a robust foundation in analytics and problem solving skills. My academic journey has been distinguished by a strong focus on Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and satellite communication systems, culminating in my 4th and 5th year dissertations that explored polarisation control and simulated point-ahead correction systems for satellite-based QKD.My technical proficiency spans advanced programming skills in MATLAB and Python, with intermediate capabilities in LabView, Simulink, R, Ansys, Autodesk, and the Office Suite. In addition to my academic pursuits, I also enjoy solo and collaborative projects where my technical toolkit have been pivotal. From developing analytic tools on blockchain endpoints, designing and launching weather balloons for atmospheric research, and recreational projects to understand more about the world around me and how it works through data analysis.Having also played a key role in the University's Formula Student AI Division team, I worked on the development and implementation of autonomous driving systems through the use of the Robot Operating System (ROS), developing Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping (SLAM) systems, integrating LiDAR sensors and optimising path-finding algorithms with cost itterative cost functions.Beyond my technical skills, I have a natural affinity for communication and teamwork, having honed these abilities through an upbringing heavily involving rugby, as well as professional roles in the hospitality industry. These have instilled a keen attention to detail, adaptability under pressure, strong analytical an critical thinking abilities. Looking ahead, I am eager to leverage my academic background, technical skills, and project experience to contribute to innovative solutions in the fields I choose to pursue next.
