Increased peak power output by 30% and reduced time to shift by 75% through implementation of projects including a turbocharged intake and exhaust system, electronic shifting system and improved fuel system. Achieved aggressive driving deadline (1 month ahead of previous year) allowing team to increase total drive days by 600% (from 6 to 36+).

Powertrain Engineer

Durham, North Carolina, United States

Designed, machined, and constructed exhaust and intake systems for the team's first turbocharged car. Determined the optimal final drive ratio through Excel analysis and designed, CAM'd, and machined appropriate sprocket and sprocket adapter using SolidWorks, Omax waterjet, and CNC Mill. Reduced sprocket weight by 15% utilizing FEA analysis. Additionally, designed and built a chassis dynamometer using an inertial flywheel, Hall effect sensor, and Arduino to plot engine power curves.

Researcher / Cad Designer

Multiple Locations; Remote And Cusco, Peru

I used SketchUp in combination with drone photography to map out the protruding walls of the Akapana pyramid at Tiahuanaco, Bolivia. I utilized photographs, explorer's notes, and Google Earth to locate loose, buried, and destroyed stones to aid the recreation of a building on top of the Akapana. I also used google earth and Differential GPS data to create an accurate, textured topographical map of the site. My work was pivotal in Dr. Alexei Vranich's recreating of the archaeological site. Using my model of the existing stones, I was able to predict the location of a sunken wall that had been buried. Part of the new wall was then excavated, with the rest being scanned using ground and aerial thermal scans. I also helped create photorealistic scans of the 'Zig Zag' walls at Saksaywaman using drones with thermal cameras, Agisoft Metashape, and Sketchup.

Researcher

Port Chester, New York, United States

Working directly under Dr. Alexei Vranich and with several other professors from the University of Virginia, King's College in London, University of Chicago, and other top universities, I put together a to-scale theoretical model of the Muyuqmarka including its interior design, time-appropriate stonework, and adobe adornments which I then superimposed over a 3D map of the existing stones. I modeled everything in SketchUp, with my data coming from a combination of field notes and aerial photographs, some of which were given to me, and some of which I measured.
