Structural design and drafting of “Nova Miner” high wall mining system. Nova Miner is comprised of 25 individual 40 foot long conveyor cars, a drill head and a large launch vehicle. This gives it a total drilling length of 1000 feet. The mining system is capable of drilling up to a 26 degree angle with a maximum cut of 11 feet X 11 feet. At the time, the Nova Miner was the only one of its kind in existence with these capabilities. Site inspections and engineering analysis on several contracts including weld designs.
