With 40 years experience in the Automotive Aftermarket as a consultant, a supplier and distributor at a Senior Executive level I bring a wealth of experience to the executive boardroom. Having been the lead in negotiating and concluding over 70 acquisitions in the sector across regions that include South Africa and neighbouring territories, Asia and the United Kingdom, I have honed my business analysis and negotiating skills into a fine art. Designing and implementing clear strategies that drive growth and profitability is a core competency that I have developed through my experience.Through over 20 years in a consulting capacity with my own company, The Marketing Shop, products and services were developed that assisted each sector of the Automotive Aftermarket. OES clients of The Marketing Shop included; Mercedes-Benz, BMW, VW, Ford, Nissan, Toyota, General Motors, ERF, Cummins and MAN. Component manufacturing clients included: Federal-Mogul (Driv), Gabriel, ZF, Bosch, GUD Holdings, Metair (ATE, Monroe, Smiths Manufacturing and Firs Battery), Bosal, Donaldson, Mintex, Michelin and Dunlop. Parts distributor clients include; Motus (Midas, Alert and Engine Parts), AutoZone, Diesel-Electric, Kapico and Gaydons. The Marketing Shop became “the authority” on the South African Automotive Aftermarket industry.My eight year tenure at Federal-Mogul gained me valuable experience in both manufacturing and distribution. Manufacturing experience was gained products that were locally produced and includes, brake pads and linings, spark plugs, wiper blades and linkages, pistons, engine bearings, valves and gaskets. Experience was also gained in distribution into Africa through servicing of both West Africa (Nigeria, Ghana) and East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania).My eleven years at Motus (ten as the CEO of the Aftermarket Parts Division) exposed me to international markets inclusive of Neighbouring territories (Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique), Asia(China and Taiwan) as well as the United Kingdom. Developing and executing a global strategy saw Motus Aftermarket Parts significantly increase both the top and bottom line while at the same time, streamlining the entire supply chain.
