The purposeful use of plants and plant-related activities to promote the aesthetical appeal of an area, education or the health and wellness of an individual or group is what inspires me. I believe in the benefits that horticulture provides, so much so that we’ve made it our company's mission; ‘To enrich the lives of others by providing access to horticulture’ We supply a number of new and unique products to the education, residential care and local authority markets which allows their stakeholders the opportunity to access the many benefits that horticulture brings. We have identified barriers and obstacles which prevent large diverse sections of today’s society from accessing horticulture. This could be due to a number of reasons; age, ill health, physical or mental disability, it could be simply that a school has neither the staff or the financial resource. Space and the lack of it is a very common reason why people do not partake in horticultural activities. We trust in the multitude of benefits that are dispensed when engaging in horticultural activity or just by simply viewing or smelling the scent of flowers, plants and shrubs in otherwise dismal and dour surroundings. We believe everyone has the right to access horticulture, and our products help to facilitate this!! Show less

A proud moment.I generated sponsorship in excess £160k to enable Leeds to stage key events in the horticultural calendar such as the ILAM Conference, Green Flag and the National Britain in Bloom Awards Ceremonies.Leeds City Council now has one of the most successful in-house roundabout sponsorship schemes in the UK. In my time there I increased the annual sponsorship income from a mere £20k to £250k.Business in the Park is a sponsorship scheme which I developed across the City which presented the council with an opportunity to engage with the business sector and inform them of the vital role that parks play in their local communities and encourage them to support their local park by way of sponsorship / volunteering / CSR. The scheme has been well received and a number of companies are now financially and actively involved. Show less
