Having worked within the infrastructure sector for some 48 years, 29 of these with BAM Nuttall, I have taken retirement from full time work and will be now be acting in a consultant capacity supporting companies and individuals in the strategic development of their business.Since my formal retirement, my focus has been working part time in a non exec role supporting The NVP Group in connecting their 3 businesses with new opportunities and organisations. NVP Group company’s consists of Onwave, Sourcedogg and NVP Energy, all exciting and growing companies with technology solutions within the infrastructure industry and with potential growth now developing in other associated sectors. All have a significant and growing blue chip customer base which we aim to support collaboratively.During my time with BAM we were focused on providing the highest professional standards in the civil engineering market, with emphasis on building strong, honest and long lasting relationships with satisfied customers. This is what I want to continue promoting with the NVP Group.We established an unrivalled reputation for delivering complex and challenging civil engineering projects that played a significant role in shaping the infrastructure of modern Britain.As part of the international Royal BAM Group, BAM Nuttall had the financial backing to deliver projects through a range of contractual agreements. This was very much part of the Developing Business role required within BAM, promoting relevant ECI (early contractor involvement), PPP (private, public, partnership) through to traditional forms of contract. In the UK BAM worked and delivered relationships with construction specialist BAM Construct and BAM PPP.The experience of working in partnership and collaboration with other group companies, industry organisations, Government and its agents as well as customers are outcomes that I now wish to support and promote with NVP, in business and the overall industry. By working together we can improve productivity and reduce costs while giving value to the customer whether it's private or public.This will be achieved by ensuring procurement is continually challenged and improved by bringing the key deliverers of products to the front end of decision making as early as possible. A challenge but something I will continue to support and promote.
