Senior Security and Network Engineer

A member of a team of 4 engineers responsible for supporting and developing the Network and Security infrastructure for the main office, multiple print sites, satellite offices and Guardian web sites. The network design covers a LAN/ MAN/WAN topology with over 300 servers in 2 data centres supporting over 1500 staff.Apart from the day to day running of the.

Employed as Telecomm Technician, responsibilities involved maintenance and configuration of Pre-press, Picture desk and Communication equipment needed to publish the daily newspapers. Projects outside of production hours included the design of a new Communication room switch board, new installation of equipment at print sites and quality control projects

After attending the AP Laser Photo Labs / Production site in New Jersey USA. Tasked with designing and providing a maintenance and fault finding training course on the AP841 and AP821 Laser Dataphoto equipment for national and international customers, providing technical onsite and remote support for customer equipment.

Employed as a Computer Science Laboratory Technician, worked on prototyping and modifications on a broad range of modem equipment. Promoted to team leader for a group of technicians repairing customer equipment.

Four year apprenticeship, first year at the Engineering Industrial Training Board college training as Electronic Technician.Attended Bromley College of Technology on day release studying for TEC and then Higher TEC certificate in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
