Malcolm works with customers to improve their businesses by explaining and demonstrating - to both business and technical audiences - complex, emerging technologies in ways that are both understandable and relevant to the challenges they face.His most recent focus has been on AI, sparked by an increasing public awareness of LLMs and questions about what they can do. Previous topics have included IoT, ML, Analytics and Data Management Technologies. He has spent more than 30 years in the I.T. industry in roles including solution architect, database architect, software developer, operations manager and project manager, and spanning projects from embedded systems to business-critical database & data warehouse applications. He feels great satisfaction reflecting on systems he imagined and built from the ground-up which are still running day-to-day business operations after more than 20 years.A unifying thread is his desire to solve business problems by combining human creativity with the wealth of technologies now at our disposal.
