I worked with business owners in the Sydney Hills Region to achieve success in their businesses and personal lives by leveraging local business owner peer advisory boards, private business coaching and proprietary strategic services. The Alternative Board® brings together business owners and CEOs of non-competing businesses in small groups of up to 10 members to meet one morning a month in a relaxed and confidential setting to discuss their issues and opportunities. Members bring their insights, experience and wisdom to help each other achieve their personal and business visions. The board group is both an invaluable advisory resource and a focus for accountability.

The 5 or so years I operated this legal practice brought my total experience as a business lawyer to more than 35 years – and all of those years gave me the opportunity to work with many business people in all sorts of situations in a spectrum of organisations. I started this business in October 2012 to provide business law services to private business clients, many of whom came to consider me their “trusted business advisor”. In these roles, I:* provided legal advice to the managing director, the board and senior management on all matters relating to the company’s business and the business of related entities;* provided training to the board, management and staff on legally related issues and business practices and provided mentoring to staff generally;* worked with the external company secretary on board administration and governance;* provided oversight for policy and compliance documents and manuals and guidance and support to the compliance manager;* acted as grievance officer for matters of improper conduct such as discrimination and harassment;* engaged, lead and managed external solicitors and barristers as required.
