Following three posts in PR and marketing in public sector, consumer and B2B environments I became Head of PR and Public Affairs for the UK subsidiary of Union Carbide Corporation - a position I held for five years.I then joined a PR consultancy in York called Borodin, still working with Union Carbide as a client. It was in that role that I handled the crisis communications in UK and Europe for Union Carbide relating to the gas leak at a pesticide manufacturing plant in Bhopal in India, which killed over 2000 people, and which is still on record as the world's worst industrial disaster.I worked on this and its aftermath for over two years.I then joined Brahm in Dec 89 to drive forward its then embryonic PR business and saw it grow to one of the UK's most successful consultancies, operating within a full service marketing agency.Brahm rebranded on 12 July 2010 to bring together its brahm (marketing services) and swamp (digital marketing) brands into one unified BRASS brand - a digitally centred integrated marketing agency.I retired from BRASS in January 2011, although I do still play a consultancy role for the agency.
