The Digital Education Revolution (DER) program was a Federal Government program to provide every child in Australia with a laptop. In NSW we delivered 268,000 devices with associated infrastructure, wireless networks and software applications. I worked closely with the Schools Program Office, Schools Principals and Regional Support teams to implement a Business as Usual support model, resolved over 18,000 outstanding incidents and drove initiatives that significantly improved the level of customer satisfaction with the program services. I was formally recognized by the Department for my outstanding contribution to the success of the Digital Education Revolution program.

I was asked to develop the role of Business Relationship manager with the Schools Portfolio and to establish a forum by which schools could liaise with the Information Technology Directorate (ITD) in a structured manner to address service performance issues and demand management. I established the first Schools Implementation Group (SIG) which had representation from the Primary Principals Association, Secondary Principals Council, NSW Teachers Federation, DEC Legal and the Schools Administrative Reference Group. The charter for the group was to review and approve IT projects raised by schools and to review service performance data. This was the first time the Schools portfolio had a consolidated view of the ITD relationship Developed pipeline management processes to coordinate inputs and prioritisation of projects by all SIG members. Identified and prioritised over 40 IT projects with 10 projects including Adobe Connect and Google Apps for Education being approved by SIG and subsequently implemented state wide. Created an Implementation Group model that was replicated into the NSW TAFE domain and was expanded through the development of reference groups to support specific services and technologies
Service Manager - Program Management
Reporting to the CIO, I managed the Business Investment Fund program working closely with customer stakeholders to deliver seven strategic projects joint-funded by Microsoft and Department of Education to innovate and promote IT capabilities across the NSW Education environment.
