I am a Business Restructuring Services specialist and Licensed Insolvency Practitioner at PwC New Zealand, based in Christchurch. I have 30 years business, financial and advisory experience in New Zealand and the UK. I work with clients, small and large, and numerous referrers across the country.I am heavily involved in advising directors, business owners, managers and professionals including bankers and solicitors on business restructuring matters, strategy and planning, performance improvement and where necessary, insolvency processes.I have been appointed as a receiver by secured lenders or liquidator by shareholders or the High Court across a range of industries and business sectors. In addition, I have completed independent financial reviews of and for financially distressed businesses needing assistance. Such reviews aim to identify problems and offer advice on the options available. Being independent, the advice is often more direct or practical than that being offered by the existing advisors. I have also acted as an Expert Witness and appeared in the High Court giving evidence and been cross examined on insolvency related matters, and as an interim CFO for a large meat processing company.Industries within which I have worked are wide and varied but include construction, resources, rural (dairy and other farms), meat processing, property, retail, construction, hospitality and IT.The most notable work I have done includes acting as receiver of Pike River Coal, Tamarind Taranaki (oil & gas), Provincial Finance, the Sol Square bars (Chch), Leopard Coachlines and managing the South Island aspects of the receiverships of Mainzeal and Ebert Construction.
