A multi disciplined project/field engineer for an international service provider in the civils and oil & gas sectors. Our main services include NORM Management, Asbestos Management, HP/UHP Water Jetting, Confined Space Entry, Search & Rescue, Cold Cutting and Vacuum Transfer. My roles include estimating, client meetings, pre project planning, allocation of resources, project documentation including RAMS, project management, invoicing, and much more. This list is not exhaustive, as multi disciplined project/field engineers we are expected to be able to competently fulfil any role within the company as and when required

United Kingdom

Our main contract was with SSE and our remit was to support existing SSE Tree Surgeon squads with maintenance along the power lines. In times of emergency I.e. Storm damage and mass black outs, we would work round the clock to remove debris/trees that had fallen on lines or were threatening to. In my specific role, I had to be prepared to mobilise at any time and do a lot of travelling. Day to day duties included tool box talks, risk assessments and supervising less experienced personnel.

Highlands

Domestic and commercial installations ranging from tv aerials and satellite dishes to CCTV and custom designed home entertainment installations. My role involved meeting with clients to discuss requirements and costs before advising on a solution. If successful, it was also likely that I would be responsible for co-ordinating and completing the work as per my design. Working at height and confined space entries were the main risks we faced daily, which were controlled to the best degree through strong risk assessment, methodology and tool box talks.
