After Oxford Aviation Training, I joined BA on the A320 in Heathrow. Some bad luck (type 1 diabetes) meant I had to stop flying in 2008. I became a trainer on the A320 and later Chief Ground instructor with Oxford Aviation, later CAE. During this period I helped set up Pilots with Diabetes and we successfully overturned the medical regulations to enable lots of pilots like me to return to their passion.I joined Jet2 to help set up their new training organisation ATO in 2013 as their Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor, whilst flying the B737 out of Leeds and later East Midlands. The desire to live back down south and fly full time, meant I joined TUI in 2017 on the B737 in Manchester and then Gatwick.In early 2020 I rejoined BA with the hope of flying the Airbus again. Covid 19 caught up with almost 300 pilots like me, who had just joined and I was made redundant. I worked as a full time trainer once again, teaching ATPL theory for L3Harris and then spent over a year as an SFI with FlightSafety International in Farnborough teaching pilots to fly the Hawker HS-125.In May 2022 I re-rejoined BA (EuroFlyer) … Third time lucky :)Prior to aviation I was a sailor promoting and managing corporate events, as well as teaching on 65 foot racing yachts. I also spent five years at BT as both a marketing and sales manager. As you might imagine, my degree in Geology has been invaluable during my careers at sea and in the air! I love motorcycles, both on and off road.
