Technical Architect responsible for a number of back end areas and projects on HMRC's highly successful digital platform (MDTP).- Microservice architecture- Scala/Play/MongoDB, AWS- ReST / HATEOAS API design and workshops- Customer facing work with other government depts- Hired team of AWS specialists - Soft skills/'getting things done in Government' as important as technical.Key projects include: - Transactional email and print suppression system- 2 way secure messaging customer contact POC- Digital upstream risking capability- Green field development to replace Government Gateway with a in house authentication system, using OAUTH2, OpenID Connect, JWT on Scala micro services on AWS.

Architect responsible for the back end systems involved in playout and DRM, within Sky's highly sophisticated new video platform. This spanned approx 5 teams and roughly 10 microservices. During this time I was responsible for the technical design required to support expanding the platform to various international clients, plus new functionality such as bookmarking, and a trial serving OTT content within hotels. In addition much firefighting and day to day assistance as a technical owner of the area.

Product and Sales Programme Phase 2: data driven sales platform.- Owned solution and API design: worked with analysts and across 5 scrum teams to put it into practice.- Ran and took part in numerous design workshops to define integration patterns with client and downstream services.- Domain expert / SME representing programme in meetings. - Gradual evolution of solution design in response to requirements (not all known up front). - Product Modelling, defining Products, Charges, Resources, Services based on TMF Information framework. - Technology included Java, Python, Graph databases, ReST/HATEAOS, Semantic Web (RDF, SPARQL), Microservices, Cloud Foundry, Apache Cassandra.

Online Commerce Platform project. Built new online sales platform from the ground up using Java based technologies and Scrum/XP based agile techniques, inc pair programming, TDD, weekly sprints.

Straddling the divide between hands-on tekkie, agile coach, and scrum master in a small team delivering blogs, discussion forums, and ultimately a full online community to some of Sky's most prestigious websites.

Developed systems crucial to the success of AOL's LLU rollout. Made heavy use of Agile and TDD working methods, under much pressure to deliver. Numerous live releases, many talented colleagues, and satisfied users make this the most successful project I've worked on.

Short term project doing greenfield development with subsequent integration into bespoke in house systems, under Scrum methodology.

Greenfield development of large Government project. Mainly involved in developing the automatic letter generation component of a large infrastructural system.
