Systems engineered almost entirely with Open Source software - Postfix, UWash and Dovecot IMAP, Spamassassin, Rbldnsd, Bind, Procmail, Amavisd-new, ClamAV, Dkimproxy, Mailman, and Cloudmark Authority (commercial plug-in for Spamassassin).• Team lead for Puppet configuration management system for 200+ Unix systems. • Provide ongoing care and feeding of core infrastructure platforms and services, including Xen virtual server infrastructure, Network Appliance (NFS) and Equalogic (iSCSI) storage devices, LDAP (OpenLDAP and RHDS) and Kerberos infrastructure, XMPP/Jabber services, Apache web servers, and monitoring platforms (Nagios, Cacti, and Splunk). • Developed and/or maintained various automation, provisioning, and reporting tools in Perl, PHP, and shell. -

Backup environment included IBM Tivoli Storage Manager backup and archiving software, Sun Solaris 9/V440 hardware, IBM 3584 tape library, and a seven LTO-2 tape drives configured in a local fiber-switched SAN. • Managed VMware ESX server environment supporting a total of approximately 150 Windows Server and Linux virtual machines. • Implemented and managed corporate DNS (Bind), monitoring using Nagios, performance trending with MRTG, and centralized logging (Syslog-ng). • Responsible for building and maintaining Unix development infrastructure for engineering and development, QA, and technical support departments. Supported a range of Unix platforms including Solaris, Red Hat and Suse Linux, HP-UX, and AIX as well as a standard toolkit of GNU development tools and utilities across operating systems. • Supported hardware including IBM BladeCenter blade server hardware – HS20, HS40, and JS20s (PowerPC), Sun V240 and V440s as well as a variety of older Ultrasparc hardware, HP 9000 and Itanium servers, and older IBM RS6000 (models F50 and 43P) hardware.
