In this position, my remit has been to help the Dimension Data group in crafting a strategy to exploit the market opportunity presented by the Internet of Things. To this end, the deliverables of this role are to:• Research the IoT and create a business plan to exploit the emerging market opportunity;• Travel and build relationships in regions and with key partners;• Investigate potential industry and technology partners that may help in bringing this to market;• Work with differing stakeholders to create value propositions; and• Creation and management of an IoT community of interest within the Dimension Data group;

In this role, I had the opportunity to learn more about the Dimension Data group as a whole through rotating through it's various business units to gain a better understanding of the business. As such, my responsibilities included:• Creating and maintaining multi-level relationships with executives and other staff;• Multiple rounds of investigation and internal consulting in order to validate existing information from in and around the business, as well as providing solutions from a “fresh perspective”; and• Presenting technical and non-technical concepts to executives and employees;

Refactored, repaired and maintained an existing job costing system for the company. Currently maintaining the system and drafting a proposal to upgrade the system and transfer existing data to a newer system.

Helped to develop an integrated UI for one of their products.
