In 2004, I was hired to establish a nonprofit organization to support the Virginia Capitol as it underwent an historic restoration and expansion. In 2016, I returned to the academic environment as alumni director at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland and in 2021 I accepted the position of Vice President for Development with the Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Executive Director Of Alumni RelationsRandolph-Macon College Sep 2016 - Nov 2021Ashland, Virginia, UsFor five years I had the opportunity to lead the alumni engagement program at the alma mater of my father and grandfather. In those years, I helped to establish the Refer-a-Yellow Jacket program which encouraged alumni and friends of the college to identify and recruit qualified students for the Admissions Office; this group achieved a consistent yield of enrolled students above 50% during a time of reduced enrollment in many peer small private colleges. Established a spring reunion weekend of activities to create a second major alumni weekend in addition to traditional Homecoming activities in the fall. Managed campaigns to raise money for a fund to support the alumni house and to build a memorial garden for alumni and friends. Conducted virtual events during the COVID-19 pandemic to keep alumni engaged; these activities included virtual Homecoming Weekends, a virtual Reunion Weekend, and other programs including a impactful and open discussion with alumni about the college's experiences with racial inclusion and equity. -
