Part of a dedicated two person team charged with the creation and implementation of organizational governance in new countries/jurisdictions where investments are made. Current focus is building a business organization in French Guiana to progress from exploration to operations in a cost effective and nimble manner. Management responsibility for Newmont’s Land group and Supply Chain attorneys consisted of ten (10) reports providing legal support and strategic guidance to Exploration, Supply Chain, and Corporate Development.Primary negotiator and lead counsel on a four person team that successfully negotiated an investment agreement with the Republic of Suriname resulting in the construction of the Merian gold mine and commencement of mining operations expected to produce a minimum of 6 to 7 million ounces with a potential of over 20 million ounces within the heavily negotiated area of interest expanding over 41,000 acres.Primary corporate counsel for Exploration responsible for supporting prospective and existing international joint ventures. Finalized dozens of agreements in multiple jurisdictions including Burkina Faso, French Guiana, Mexico, Canada, Morocco, Australia and Ethiopia with private parties and government entities enabling Newmont to execute its strategy with respect to asset base and jurisdictional presence.Responsible for Corporate Development merger and acquisition, and divestiture legal support culminating in divestment revenue of hundreds of millions of dollars for the Company.Member of the Global Supply Management Directorate, a cross functional global team consisting of C-suite and regional leadership executives responsible for creating and implementing both short term and long term global strategy relating to critical procurement needs and cost drivers.

Primary legal support for merchant portfolio for over 10 FDC entities, brands and alliances.
