Sri Lanka

Achievements:1. I was instrumental in developing the High-value Agriculture unit in Sri Lanka and grew the portfolio from two investments to over seven investments in 2 years. This too amid the fertilizer and forex crisis. Partnerships include Royal Cashews, DIMO, David Gram Stores, Onesh Agri, Ellawala Horticulture and Star Mushrooms.2. I was in the team leading MDF’s efforts in agritech. This was a new sector for MDF, and I evaluated many solutions to understand the business cases and value proposition. At present, I manage 4 out of 5 investments in the unit. Partnerships include CBL Natural Foods, Jaykay Marketing Services (Keells), Dialog (Govi Mithuru) and SenzAgro.3. I designed and led the only Food Security focused intervention of MDF Sri Lanka during the forex crisis in 2022. The partnership was with Keells; one of Sri Lanka’s leading supermarket chains and was designed to improve availability and affordability of fresh produce in urban areas while generating income for smallholder farmers.4. I led discussions with the Lanka Fruit and Vegetable Producers, Processors and Exporters Association (LFVPPEA) and completed a global demand assessment which resulted in MDF investing in TJC Mango in Sri Lanka.Partnerships include Ellawala Horticulture.5. I helped transition the agriculture strategy from High-value Agriculture and Agritech to Agricultural Inputs. New partners introduced to MDF include CIC, Hayleys and ModernAgri.6. I'm also the specialist for Dairy in MDF Sri Lanka and contributed to developing a market brief to advise DFAT on investing in dairy in Sri Lanka.

Samoa

I was selected for a short-term assignment in Samoa as part of MDF's Pacific Expansion funded by Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and New Zealand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT).My role includes:1. Coaching and mentoring the team in Samoa on all technical aspects of program implementation.2. Conducting market assessments to identify good partnership and investment opportunities in line with MSD principles.3. Actively developing the investment pipeline and supporting implementation of active interventions.4. Liaising with the regional team, local government and non-government representatives where needed.

A-Networks is a specialized IT Security and Networking Solutions Provider catering to a niche Blue-Chip, SMB and Gov-Sector clientele.My role included:1. Management of key customer accounts of approximate value $300,000+ and new client development.2. Partnership management and new partnership development within the IT security, networking, and infrastructure space.3. Marketing consulting to improve online presence, marketing materials and customer engagement.

Leading the marketing team based in Sri Lanka responsible for servicing Stax’s New York, Boston, Chicago, and Sri Lankan offices.2. In-depth research and analysis geared to provide data-driven insights in support of client and business development initiatives.3. Co-leading the development of Stax’s knowledge management system (hosted on SharePoint), provide training, and operate as the first level of support for all offices.4. Research support for Stax’s consulting teams on market and investment opportunities, competitive threats, customer segmentation strategies, channel conflicts and other market facing issues.
