* Project Manager* Health Technology and Innovation* Professional in leading EU funded projects* PhD Physiology & Neuroscience* Experience in science and researchPREVIOUS RESEARCHMy research (University of Helsinki, Functional Lipidomics Unit) has involved lipidomics on a systemic level, using analytical biochemistry to unveil the flux of different lipid species and fatty acids in biological systems. In my research I used sophisticated high throughput methods such as mass spectrometry and gas-liquid chromatography, followed by qualitative Principal Component Analysis. In my Master´s thesis project, I studied the seasonal compositional changes in the membrane lipids of the central nervous system of physiologically active vs. hibernating (inactive) bats. I found compositional changes in cell membranes, that are related to the regulation of metabolic rate during different seasons. In my PhD project my objective was to find and test a biomonitoring method of food webs where adipose tissue fatty acids are used as biomarkers and a proxy of ingested diet. http://www.helsinki.fi/biosciences/corefacilities/lipidomicsunit/

Phd CandidateUniversity Of Helsinki Oct 2015 - May 2020University Of Helsinki, Department Of Biosciences, Functional Lipidomics UnitIn my PhD project "Fatty acid profiles of seal and sea bird adipose tissue reveal individual dietary history", my objective was to find and test a biomonitoring method of food webs where fatty acids are used as biomarkers and a proxy of ingested diet. Biochemically, fatty acids from diet are assimilated largely unmodified into the tissues of organisms on higher trophic levels, making them a valuable source of ecological information. -
