Malinda is responsible for implementing the role of general counsel into existing operations, and managing the legal function for Dominion Diamond Corporation. She acts as the Privacy Officer as well as Ethics and Compliance Officer for international operations. Dominion Diamond Corporation (TSX: DDC, NYSE: DDC) is a Canadian diamond mining company with ownership interests in two major producing diamond mines situated approximately 200 kilometers south of the Arctic Circle in Canada’s Northwest Territories. The Company operates the Ekati Diamond Mine (in which it owns a controlling interest), and also owns 40% of the Diavik Diamond Mine. It supplies rough diamonds to the global market through its sorting and selling operations in Canada, Belgium and India and is the world’s third largest producer of rough diamonds by value.

Malinda provided ongoing legal advice to a variety of clients relating to corporate governance and organization, financing, asset and share sales and acquisitions, as well as the acquisition, subdivision and disposition of real property. Malinda has experience negotiating and drafting a variety of complex commercial agreements, including leasing, licensing, subcontracting and other unique business agreements. On the financing side, she has experience in acting for both financial institutions and corporate clients in transactions involving operating and term credit facilities, guarantees, project finance, letters of credit, and security on both real and personal property. Malinda also practices mining law, providing advice on acquisitions and dispositions of mines and mining companies in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. At Lawson Lundell, she represented clients with respect to the permitting and regulatory aspects of exploration, development, operation and closure of mining projects.
