I am a communicator, marketer, entrepreneur, board member, and above all, advocate for women. I have spent my career advising companies on effective messaging that moves stakeholders and drives the bottom line.I am Co-founder and Vice Chair of 5050 Women on Boards™, the global campaign to ensure that women hold half of corporate board seats. Based on my career experience I recognized that I could deliver effective change for women in the workforce. With my co-founder and friend, Stephanie Sonnabend, I built and led 50/50 Women on Boards from its inception in 2010 to 2017, when we hit our first goal, women holding 20% of board seats of Fortune 1000 companies. We are the first organization to report and track the number of women on boards and provide that information to the public. We built the organization rooted in advocacy: explaining the business imperative for diverse boards, collaborating with like-minded organizations to move the needle, educating women on pursuing corporate board seats, and reporting on the statistics so stakeholders could hold companies accountable for corporate governance practices (ESG). As we work towards parity on Russell 3000 boards, I am as passionate about the organization's mission as ever. I continue to provide strategic counsel while serving as an ambassador for the brand to achieve gender parity and diversity on boards with all due speed.Previously, I was the CEO of Gero Communications, a boutique public relations firm specializing in consumer and B2B communications for clients in the fashion, travel, hospitality, healthcare, and social impact sectors. I am an active community volunteer and an experienced non-profit and government commission Board Member. I am Vice Chair of 50/50 Women on Boards. Previously, I was a Board Director for The Brookline Education Foundation, the Boston Women’s Commission and the Chair of More Than Words and Coolidge Corner Theatre Foundation, two organizations where I remain active.
