About Mallika Mohan

Wandering around passionately with my sketchbook trying to capture the visual memories of my experiences and emotions in the form of art. I found a manner of conveying thoughts and ideas, something I could not utilize words for. These, as I recall, were the initial footsteps of my journey towards transforming my passion into my career. Growing up, I satiated my curiosity by collecting print advertisements, watching cartoon films and creating my own stories and illustrations using them. All this while, as I added more feathers to my hat, I realized my piquing interest in the realms of art and design. Consequently, I did a Bachelor of Arts with honours in Communication Design with a specialization in Graphics and Branding. After my undergrad, I began my professional life as a Graphic Designer at a start-up design agency. Besides the fact that working as the initial workforce made me confident with my creative skills, I also gained the essential qualities of time management, stress-handling and client dealing.Even though I have been dedicated to working in the creative field, I was eager to explore the business and management side of the creative industries. Thus, I decided to pursue my post-graduation and graduated from the University of the Arts London with a degree in Design Management.During my postgraduate journey, I have mastered leadership skills, critical analysis, design thinking and futures through a plethora of modules. My projects focused on the importance of human centeredness in social and environmental contexts. For example, I devised a business model canvas and proposed an ecommerce service platform for rural Indian Handicraft artisans to bring out their legendary talents by selling their produce in the international market through a direct platform. Eventually, I found myself being passionate towards user-centredness and how new services and products can be designed around it. So, I further pursued a specialism master’s in design Innovation. Thus, I am a recent graduate from Loughborough University. For my dissertation, I proposed future service design scenarios for destigmatising menopause in the society and building positive experiences for women throughout their journey of menopause.In short, I am a multidisciplinary designer with academic experience in design research, UX and service design along with professional experience in working with creative agencies and clients. My story is about being passionate and eager towards learning and evolving. Together we can be a part of each other's journey. Lets connect :)
