I am an assistant professor at Concordia College Moorhead. My research focuses on plant patterning and development employing a combination of molecular biology and synthetic biology techniques. This class is geared primarily towards non-majors and has a small class size to enable student discussion and hands-on learning. Together with the TAs at UCLA, I planned and lead weekly 2-hour Socratic-seminar style discussions covering scientific techniques behind genetic engineering, as well as the ethical and legal issues surrounding these topics.
