Current- Assessing Cabinet proposals to ensure compliance with Modern Treaties - Implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (review of proposals, stakeholder engagement)- Providing support and advice for modern treaty and self-government agreement negotiation tables- Policy analysis and research, particularly in the areas of heritage, culture, arts, broadcasting, copyright, intellectual property, repatriation, human rights, and the Constitution Act, in the context of modern treaties- Leading a Section 35 legal project to develop a job aid for Heritage employees regarding the constitutional significance of Modern Treaties- Conducting socio-economic research using established methodologies and, where appropriate, adapting methodologies to contribute to the business and information needs of the Community Building Branch- Identifying sources and acquiring quantitative and/or qualitative data from primary or secondary data sources; carrying out analyses to identify trends, test trends and possible relationships between factors for statistical significance; and preparing reports outlying findings- Preparing briefing notes, narrative and statistical reports, correspondence, and research papers, and presentations to support senior management meetings and decision-making.- Developing and implementing databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other data capture strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality to meet the information needs of policy analysts and/or management
