English Teacher- Inspiring students to become successful, self-motivated lifelong learners within a safe learning environment. Students are encouraged and nurtured to be “thinkers” engaged in their learning community. Currently teaching and established the following courses: Journalism, Publications, FR/SPH English, American Literature, and credit recovery courses. Worked independently and collaborated effectively as part of team to create components for curriculum for online courses. Shared and documented best practice for courses within the LMS. Provided support services for online classroom through phone calls, emails, and personal contact with one-on-one training in Blackboard Collaborate Class Connects. Maintained accurate and confidential student records. Idaho Virtual Academy Newspaper Advisor- Empowered students in the IDVA Publications course to produce the monthly, Virtual Reality, online newspaper. Students were provided opportunities to be self-reliant, resourceful, and innovative to develop a high-quality newspaper. Supervised student collaboration for contribution and revision for newspaper publication.

Provided innovative and flexible education through digital learning. Taught the following online courses: Economics and US History. Communicated effectively with a diverse group and individual students to provide the additional services they required. Assisted with solutions to technical and course related problems. Social Studies and English Teacher- Challenged students to think critically and creatively in the classroom while incorporating technology. Provided students opportunities for academic discussion with peers, teachers, and members of the community to demonstrate their knowledge. Courses developed and facilitated: FR/SPH English, World History, Street Law, Psychology I and II, Sociology, History of Pop Music, Geography, 8th grade US History and Language Arts, and 7th grade Social Studies. Piloted World History course implementing Brainhoney LMS platform and Google Classroom. Student Council Advisor-Created opportunities for student council representatives to take an active role as liaison between the student body, the administration, and the school board. Students were encouraged to: enhance their public speaking, plan events, fundraise, provide community service, design and produce a social media presence for Lake City High School. Coordinated student efforts to create a vision, set meetings and agendas, prioritize needs, design social media promotions, manage events/volunteers, and balance the budget for the Associated Student Body funds. Organized student volunteers to fundraise $25k-30k annually for ASB. Integrated problem-solving and decision-making skills while planning key events. Prioritized tasks and managed time efficiently throughout the year. Worked with the principal, athletic director, and coaches to plan Homecoming activities, Fight for the Fish spirit competition, Anti-Bullying Lip Dub, school dances, and fundraisers for LCHS. Advisor of the 2015 & 2016 National Council of Excellence Award. Youth Volunteers in Action Director- Placed 200+ students in volunteer sites for a semester or yearlong service learning project. These students developed organizational, communication & technical skills, while gaining a greater level of awareness for civic responsibilities. Maintained flexibility & adaptability while working with students and the community.
