About Mallory Cormack

Teaching is my passion. I did not always know that I wanted to be a teacher, but I always knew that I loved learning, especially History. I started learning Latin in 9th grade and fell in love with the language and Roman History because of a gifted teacher who inspired me. I continued studying Latin and Ancient Greek at Baylor University and, later, Tulane University. Everywhere I went, I benefited from teachers who were passionate about their subjects and their students. Eventually, I knew that I wanted to follow that same path.At Founders Classical Academy, I have been mentored by my fellow teachers and grown into my profession. I teach 8th Grade U.S. History as well as Latin II to both Middle and High School students. I am passionate about helping my students be their best in both their school and personal lives and about our school's emphasis on developing civic virtue in our students. I work to make history and government relevant to my students' lives. I believe that there are many life lessons to be found in every era of history. In Latin, I encourage my students to take on the challenge of learning a new language to build persistence. I spend a lot of one-on-one time with my students to engage each one of them and ensure that each student receives the help he/she needs to succeed. I look forward to many years of inspiring students and teaching my favorite subjects.
