Artist & Creative Consultant
In 2001, after illustrating a book for Random house while working for The Wedding List Company, I left the corporate world to pursue a creative path. I worked as an artist, illustrator, and ultimately moved into creating a line of fine jewelry, a natural path after years working with the Magnificent Jewelry Department at Sotheby’s. My brand of hand made cast pieces with an emphasis on custom design and jewelry grew to include housewares and sculpture that were sold internationally in stores. In 2010, I was invited to participate in the Museum of Art & Design's annual Loot Exhibition of Contemporary Jewelry, an exhibition in New York City featuring jewelry designers from 15 countries around the world. I have worked as a creative consultant since 2004 for companies including Sotheby's & Sotheby's Diamonds with James de Givenchy of Taffin, Random House, Stella & Dot, Sailormade, a digital media start-up specializing in video, and Insolito Kids, a children's subscription clothing business specializing in Italian brands. Projects have included illustration, jewelry design, concepting collections, marketing management, social media and public relations campaigns. I have worked throughout this period as a visual artist, with my most recent show of prints and paintings, "Mixtaped", opening on February 2, 2019 in New York with a group of artists including Ruby Palmer, Alex Schuchard and Amy Chase Gulden.I have attended Parson's School of Design, The Vincent D'Amico Institute of Art and currently The New York Studio School of Drawing Painting & Sculpture. I have also taught a jewelry design class at Parsons The New School of Design affiliate, Altos de Chavón School of Design in the Dominican Republic.
Art Director
Knowsy, founded by one of the co-founders of Babble.com, created short-format video content in the e-learning space with a goal to elevate video content online by informing and entertaining users. As Art Director I managed creative direction for the platform, including all content, videos and the website and social media. I managed video content working as set designer, prop stylist and talent manager. Knowsy evolved into a new business, now known as The Swell.
Marketing Consultant
After leaving the corporate world to work as an artist, I was recruited back to Sotheby’s part time as a consultant where I managed public relations and marketing campaigns for the Jewelry Department, Sotheby's Diamonds business, and the launch of a line of diamond jewelry by James de Givency of Taffin.
Website Director, The Wedding List Company (Aquired By Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia)
Managed the website for a multi-channel wedding registry start up, The Wedding List Company. The company was sold to Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia in 2001.
Vice President
As Vice President, Sotheby's Press Office & Corporate Communications, I managed press campaigns for auctions in Fine Arts, Decorative Art, Jewelry, Ethnographic Arts, Wine and Books & Manuscripts in the New York, and for the International jewelry department in the US, Europe and Asia; managed public relations for numerous special sales including The Collection of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, the sale of Sue, the world's most complete T-Rex fossil, and The Collection of The Duke & Duchess of Windsor; as well as numerous benefit auctions with organizations including God’s Love We Deliver, Free Arts, and GMHC. I subsequently was chosen as part of an in-house team to launch SOTHEBYS.COM and managed some of the first auctions held online.
