As Salk's first Research Development Specialist, I provide researchers strategic proposal development consultation, strategy, shaping, alignment with sponsor initiatives, and editing services for both individual and large complex proposals to secure external scientific funding. I optimize and implement research development resources to benefit the Institute, such as providing guidance for external funding searches and creating specialized resources for Junior Faculty and postdoctoral trainees. I create and present lectures and liaison focus groups throughout Salk's Postdoctoral Writing Series, and I manage multiple Salk internal and limited submission funding competitions.
