Provides leadership, management, and program development for Virginia Tech in the Hampton Roads region. Collaborates with university partners to deliver comprehensive outreach programs and projects through instruction, applied research, and technical assistance. Supports corporate partners and public agencies in accessing university assets to address economic, research, workforce, and community development needs with the goal of securing funded collaboration opportunities. Provides business development through new lead generation and existing client management. Collaborates with academic departments to support a comprehensive portfolio of graduate degree programs, undergraduate courses, and non-credit offerings. Identifies opportunities for university students to participate in internship and applied learning opportunities across Hampton Roads region. Partners and/or leads market research activities and assessments to determine needs for local markets. Participates in community outreach events to promote the centers portfolio of programs and services. Develops programs to enhance alumni relations and engage alumni in center activities in partnership with VT Alumni relations office.

Served as an adjust professor within the Strome College of Business at Old Dominion University teaching courses related to business and entrepreneurship.

Position responsibilities included: Developing all programming and managing all event planning associated with the ODU Strome Entrepreneurial Center. Assisting with the development of entrepreneurial academic curriculum for the University. Managing student employees of the ODU Strome Entrepreneurial Center. Assisting with other related projects focused on economic development, entrepreneurship, commercialization and tech transfer. Managing marketing communications including newspaper columns, press releases, e-newsletters and social media posts.

Responding to economic development RFI inquires, ensuring timeliness, effectiveness and accuracy of information provided. Assisting with expansion projects and respond to issues and concerns. Managing all Franklin Southampton Economic Development, Inc. and Franklin Business Center communications including newspaper columns, press releases, e-newsletters and social media posts.
