I spent the summer semester working on particle physics research funded by the Undergraduate Summer Student Internship Program at Memorial University of Newfoundland. I researched the proton radius puzzle and Beyond Standard Model (BSM) theories. I became very familiar with Mathematica and used particle physics packages (FeynArts and FormCalc) to simulate electron proton scatterings using BSM theories. I investigated scatterings with the involvement of particles proposed by BSM theories and suggested that, under certain circumstances, these BSM particles could explain the proton radius puzzle.

I spent the summer doing research on theoretical particle physics funded by NSERC and the Canadian Institute of Nuclear Physics (CINP). I became familiar with the MOLLER experiment at the Jefferson Lab which proposes to measure the parity-violating asymmetry in polarized electron-electron scattering using the 11 GeV electron beam at JLab. My supervisors were collaborators in this experiment and I assisted them in their research and used Mathematica to create lookup tables to be sent to JLab for the development of the experiment.
