Current• Acting as a business owner, and operator of MGM Paralegal & Immigration Services.• Managing all aspects of the business including: Administrative duties, accounting for profits and losses, controlling costs, and accountability of meeting profit goals within the business.• Knowledge of a wide variety of case management, and accounting software. Proficiency in a variety of office and word processing software.• Higher than average proficiency and knowledge in technological advancements and systems such as: Google (Gmail, calendar, apps, drive etc.) basic knowledge of website design, marketing and email software (Mailchimp, Hootsuite, etc.)• Advising on a variety of legal scopes such as: Small Claims, Provincial Offences, Employment Law, Landlord and Tenant, Immigration and other tribunal matters.• Completing consultations with Clients, including evaluating client’s needs to identify the best course of action for their legal matters.• Interviewing, communicating, and preparing for clients' upcoming legal matters.• Building, and executing social media, marketing, and website campaigns for the business. • Being available for clients’ communications, providing support and peace of mind to the client. • Appearing before the Immigration Refugee Board- Immigration Division (ID), Immigration Appeal Division (IAD), Refugee Protection Division (RPD) Refugee Appeal Division (RAD) Examples of appearance including but not limited to: Detention Reviews, Admissibility hearings. Sponsorship, admissibility, appeals, reconsideration of stays, Refugee hearings and appeals.
