Helping South Australian based companies (small & big) affected by the impending closure of automobile manufacturing, diversify into new industries.• Provide expert input, leadership and support for the complex development of tangible and outcome oriented strategic plans for the transition and transformation of the South Australian automotive sector including automotive industry mapping and market intelligence that identify trends and opportunities.• Identify local and global supply and value chain opportunities to maximize opportunities for automotive manufacturers and drive the diversification and transition to new markets and business models.• Manage ongoing working relationships with the three domestic vehicle manufactures and strong working relationships with automotive component suppliers, industry stakeholders and the Commonwealth Government are developed to provide timely and accurate industry and market intelligence. • Develop highly effective relationships with industry, unions and Government stakeholders, project proponents and key corporates and universities.• Prepare and coordinate high level automotive sector research and analysis of issues is undertaken or managed and timely, relevant briefing papers, reports, strategic documents, parliamentary briefing notes and related reports and other documentation of an often sensitive and critical nature. .• Provide professional and expert representation of the Department’s and State’s position on relevant local and national committee’s and working parties.• Provide expert advice and support for the preparation of critical automotive transition and transformation policy and program development across Manufacturing and Innovation, including leading DSD’s involvement in cross agency working groups and liaison with automotive firms to maximize the benefits of Our Jobs Plan strategy to South Australia.

• Responsible for all external and internal business development activities including supplier development.• Execute, direct and control strategic plans. • Participate in setting financial targets including sales, margins and operating expenses.• Accountable for achieving monthly order intake and sales budget.• Design and implement strategies in coherence with the overall business objectives.• Contribute to business planning as part of the executive team to develop an overall marketing strategy consistent with company’s mission, vision and long term objectives.• Retain and develop existing client base and determine ways to improve profitability.• Participate in high level negotiations with clients and supply chain to maximise opportunities.• Retain and recruit best of class personnel.• Establish and implement training programs for all staff including mid-management, customer support, administration and inventory.• Directly involved in all major tender submissions guiding pricing and value added offerings.• Improve staff engagement and well-being so that work life balance is maintained.• Mentor leadership group to facilitate growth.• Lead diverse labour force including sales, administration, engineering, manufacturing, inventory, and IT.• Review and analyses of reports i.e. financial, sales, expense, trend analysis.• Develop and maintain policies and procedures (operational)• Travel extensively both nationally and internationally (USA, UK, Singapore, Europe) developing business opportunities.
