After almost 30 years in education, I'm looking to apply my extensive background in adult education, professional development, and research to innovative work with organizations utilizing project design and management, curricular design and professional development and training. In addition to years as a K-16 educator, I've spent my career focused on adult learning theory and helping educators and professionals grow and develop their own skills in leadership, community engagement, project management, social-emotional practices and design thinking (humanity-centered design). I've acted as a freelance consultant, formal educator, international workshop leader and school designer. Presently, I am the Chief Learning Officer at WonderED K-12 Academy. I am an adamant believer in the transformative power of education and have spent a career working to deliver excellent educational experiences to all. I’ve worked for greater learner diversity and increased access to education at every stage of my career. This goal has manifested itself in years of pedagogical research, curriculum design, and educational leadership and outreach, including the design and founding of an equity-driven, community-engaged, project-based learning school serving 6th-12th graders with a focus on the skills of autonomous learning, design thinking, and social-emotional intelligence. My mission is to help all learners regardless of age better understand and adapt to the dynamic world we work and live in. The skills needed to succeed in today's society are grounded in social-emotional intelligence, personal reflection and development, and the ability to adapt and evolve in an ever-changing work landscape. Learning does not stop when formal education ends. It continues throughout our careers and lives. This is the work that I believe in. We are all learners. I want to help others love that same personal journey.
