About John Malone
I am committed to the community ownership of renewable energy projects, seeing energy as a service (not only as a commodity) and renewable energy as an essential aspect of tackling climate change.I have over 30 years experience in renewable energy since completing a Masters degree in 1994/95 at the Centre for Renewable Energy Systems Technology, Loughborough University.For over half of that time, I have worked in the community energy sector supporting communities across the UK to set-up co-operatives and develop their own energy projects. I feel that the co-operative model and Co-operative Values and Principles can deliver a fairer, inclusive and democratic clean energy system.I thoroughly enjoy working with people who are motivated to make a difference in their communities and engaging my skills and experience to support their endeavours, whilst learning from them.
