Each stop on my journey - starting on day one answering a help desk phone at a community hospital and arriving 20+ years later in international healthcare IT leadership and consulting at a $28 billion dollar organization has helped inform my unique journey through IT.While traversing the above path, I earned a first-hand look into the consumption and delivery of healthcare. There's nothing that offers perspective like observing heavy consumption of healthcare. I acquired significant new knowledge. I actively listen to colleagues and clients, each one offering unique perspectives and knowledge, and produce strategies, plans, and recommendations to inform and drive change: - Distill complex and technical IT information to its core and communicate the most actionable messages. - Engage with clients to understand restrictions - be they financial, regulatory, or process. One size cannot fit all. - Trust subject matter experts. There's much we can learn by listening from the front lines where technology and process meet.I've participated in healthcare IT delivery, partnering with strong clinical and operational teams in many situations including: - Small, 5 bed clinics - 700+ bed academic medical centers - Fast-paced Emergency Departments - Cost-constrained overseas public and private healthcare organizations - Heavily regulated healthcare marketsMy broad experience offers a unique perspective on healthcare IT - with sufficient technical knowledge to engage with engineers and analysts and strategic awareness driven by scale and regional differences to inform executives.When I'm not working, I'll be on the golf course in the summer, studying launch monitor numbers like ball speed, spin rate, and launch angle in the shoulder seasons, and in my workshop building speakers and using Excel to solve acoustic differential equations all winter.See?
