I am close to finishing my Bachelor of Environment and Sustainability, studying part-time and working part-time. I am majoring in resource and environmental management and minoring in water science and policy. I find learning the greatest tool for appreciating the world, and I love learning how to read and understand landscapes and ecosystems. Throughout my degree, early career experience, and volunteering, I have developed a love for the balance between fieldwork and desktop research and writing. I am fascinated by all parts of the water sector and the management of our unique, invaluable resources, and I intend to continue my education in this field.

APS 2 Project Officer in Riverine Ecology, Basin Science and Knowledge Portfolio
Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia
During my internship I completed a report investigating the role of building services engineering in integrated water cycle management and conservation. I attended several site visits and stakeholder meetings to gain an understanding of the technical aspects of building systems and practical water-saving strategies. I combined these practical experiences with desktop research to summarise effective water-saving strategies, water management paradigms and key recommendations for the utilisation of building services engineering in integrated water cycle management. In addition to this core project, I utilised my communication skills to assist with project proposals and conference presentations. My internship also involved liaison between my on-site and university supervisors, 8 hours of career development, and weekly self-reflection.
