We believe that students can be - and are - as passionate about learning as they are about their other pursuits in life. I work with K-8 students as their personalized education coach and instruct middle school math courses. I enjoy working with students from all over the globe and using new technology that allows us to engage with them in various ways. I help students stay engaged by facilitating the student council and running club as extra curriculum options for our students.

I taught 3rd grade for the Kennewick School District. During this year, I taught all core subject and highly capable students in math and reading. I participated on the Action Team Partnership committee and volunteered as a Girls on the Run coach. Further, I lead Professional Learning Community meetings and collaborated with a team of 3 educators to ensure all of our students had access to the best education they deserved.

I had the great opportunity to teach 6th grade with the Pasco School District during the first year 6th grade was taught in the Elementary buildings. I taught Math to all 6th grade and ELA to my homeroom students. I worked on a team of 3 educators to ensure all our students had the access and options to be successful. I volunteered as a Girls On the Run Coach and worked in the schools intramural program that allowed students access to club sports.

Office Of Children And Youth

Under the direction of the Office of Children and Youth I was tasked to assist in oversight, management, and evaluation of the Mayor's Scholars Academy. The Mayor’s Scholars Academy is a free academic enrichment program that takes place over four weeks in the summer promoting success in high school and college aspiration and success. We had 300 students participating in two sites. Adaptable college access curriculum, improved theory of action, and data and program management tools were established during my internship.

Pasco School District is diverse growing district in Eastern Washington. I taught all core and supplemental subjects to students in a main stream classroom. I carried out student intervention and worked collaboratively with educational aids to help students succeed My classroom was a wealth of engagement and love for learning, done in constructivist theory. I strive to share my passion for investment in youth and schools to leverage knowledge and collaboration.

I served as the ECEAP (Early Childhood Education Assistance Program) Coordinator and Family Advocate. I collaborated with the contractor to meet state and federal guidelines regarding the preschool program and social service hours. Staying aware of grant and college expectations I supervised and guided the lead preschool teacher in strategic planning regarding curriculum and kindergarten readiness. Developing and managing the state ECEAP budget to meet state guidelines and provide excellent care to students and families was a key component of my responsibilities. As the Family Advocate I provided social services to each family to support them in goals, education, housing, medical, and employment needs.

During my undergraduate degree, The Learning Center provided me a foundation of early childhood education through curriculum development, classroom management, and family engagement.
As as team we constructed curriculum to develop early reading, writing, and mathematical skills Establishing consistency with teacher assistants and volunteers allowed for an engaging and curious class for youth to flourish.
