The Alliance for Addiction and Mental Health Services, Maine (AAMHS) is a non-profit membership organization that advocates for the collective interests of behavioral health services at the federal , state and local level. AAMHS analyzes trends in the delivery and financing of behavioral health services, building and sharing knowledge and experience reflecting the integration of behavioral health and an evolving healthcare environment. We identify behavioral health policy issues, research findings and best practices in the delivery of services, foster collaboration, provide consultation and technical assistance, and promote effective fiscal and management practices.AAMHS develops, in partnership with recipients of services, local and state agencies, policy makers, and other collaborative partners, opportunities for an improved quality of life, choice, meaningful employment, stable affordable housing integrated into the community, recovery and remission from illness, active participation in community life, and rewarding social interaction with others.AAMHS represents and advocates for the continuum of addiction and mental health services throughout Maine, from prevention through treatment and into recovery.

Conducting outreach and education about the Affordable Care Act and Community Health Options, Maine's CO-OP (Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan). Planning and executing a Social Media presence to engage Members and the public in a conversation about new ways to look at health and wellness. Health Options is a newly established nonprofit health insurance company aimed at producing the greatest value in insurance benefits and expanding coverage options for Maine individuals and small businesses. We are focusing on key concepts of leveraging local care management, behavioral health integration, and shared decision making among strategies for achieving the Triple Aim -- better health and better care at lower cost. Health Options member subscribers elect the Board of Directors, more than half of whom are plan members themselves. Health Options' members will lead us to our goals.
