House of Orange is a Melbourne based manufacturer of made to order furniture with a typical Dutch/Nordic design. Besides the made to order side of the business, House of Orange are the exclusive distributor of Dutch furniture and homewares brand HK Living for Australia and New Zealand. As operations manager I'm responsible for streamlining procedures and systems to facilitate scalability of the business, inventory management for the brand HK Living and e-commerce.

As marketing coordinator at a medium-sized wholesaler in building materials, I was responsible for all the marketing and e-commerce activities within the company. From choosing the right marketing strategy to implementing the strategy and creating the marketing collateral in InDesign and Photoshop.

I love learning new things, so in 2014 I took an online course in Online Marketing. To put what I had learned into practice, I started my own business. I loved creating a business model, developing the corporate identity and putting the Online Marketing part into practice, but I missed working towards a larger company's goals and working with colleagues. That is why I decided to move back into the corporate space.

After I finished my bachelor of communications in June 2008, I worked for the Epilepsy Association in the Netherlands as a project employee. Responsibilities included writing and implementing a corporate communications plan. The goal was to give the association a new, more professional image.

I graduated at BrainGain, a scientific consortium founded to develop medical use for computer-brain interface and brain-computer interface. My graduation assignment was to help improve internal communications between the very diverse business and medical science organizations that were in the consortium. The result of my graduation assignment was a more positive attitude against each other, better internal sharing of knowledge and better collaboration between the organizations.

That Marketing and communications was the right study for me became apparent when I was an intern at full-service marketing bureau Lime C. During the organization of the seminar 'Beleven om te overleven' (Experience to survive), my role was very pro-active, making my share in the creative process leading up to the seminar very noticeable during the actual day. I was responsible for the communications afterwards and a survey under participants. Also, I managed a couple of smaller projects during my time at Lime C.
