I started as a PhD-student and researcher at TU Dresden after finishing my Diploma in Mechanical Engineering in 2012. The PhD position was at the Institute for Natural Materials Technology, specializing in Processing machines and processing technology. I worked for 6 years on different aspects of 3D-forming of paper and paperboard for packaging applications, covering FEM-simulations of the process, material optimization, data analysis, development of measuring techniques for sample properties and image analysis.After finishing my PhD, I got the opportunity to work at KTH (Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan, Stockholm) in the Department of Solid Mechanics on micro-structural deformation behaviour of paperboard using micro-tomography and in-situ testing. After 2 years at KTH, I proceeded to work on research questions regarding natural fibre materials and packaging in the Unit for Packaging Materials at the research institute RISE in Stockholm.
