At TolaData, we build a digital tool for the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of NGOs, foundations, social enterprises and donors.I’m working at the nexus of social entrepreneurship, international development, IT/Tech, Monitoring & Evaluation, NGO consulting, inclusive business, startup incubation and impact investing. At the heart of my work, I am a bridge builder, be it between the non-profit, for-profit and public sector, between users and developers, between different industries or different cultures. I’ve had the privilege to live and work in countries in Europe, West Africa, East Africa, South East Asia and Latin America, and work with a wide range of people, from smallholder farmers in Vietnam and Costa Rica, to NGO workers in Burkina Faso and Tanzania, entrepreneurs in Brazil, politicians in Germany, and impact investors in France. My academic background – an MSc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics (UK) and a BA in International Relations from the Universities of Dresden (Germany) and Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) – supports this work.I have 15+ years of experience being a social entrepreneur and working in international development, having co-founded and set-up three social start-ups on three continents. One of the ventures I co-founded received a 6 million USD investment from a large multilateral development bank and local investors in 2017. I have also made several (impact) investments over the last years.Using my 20+ years of experience as a (part time) web developer and coder, I am also connecting the sectors of International Development and IT, in the fields of ICT4D, Tech for Good and digitization / digital transformation. At TolaData, I'm part of a team building software specifically for the non-for-profit sector.I am both into numbers (Excel, coding, business modeling) and languages (Word, writing business plans). One of my passions is football/soccer. Above all, I love getting to know people and understanding what drives them.
