I am an Automation Engineer.And I love it.As a dual student, I have already initiated a successful pilot project at Schenck RoTec, namely the design and implementation of an adaptive control system. I carried out everything on my own initiative, from project management to research, development and implementation to testing and validation.For anyone interested, here are a few details:- Using theoretical and experimental modeling methods, I developed an automatic system identification procedure for the PLC that saves changes in system behavior in a mathematical model in real time.- An adaptive model-based predictive speed controller was then set to meet the special requirements of an air-bearing system for high-precision measurement of unbalance in tubro chargers.- The result: With this intelligent control, significant improvements can be achieved in terms of system reliability, user-friendliness, production volume and production flexibility - all alone thanks to better software :)At Terma I am involved in the development of intelligent planning software on behalf of ESA's Planetary Defense Department. This software makes it possible to optimally plan the use of telescopes, taking into account all the information available at the time of planning. ESA's new Flyeye-Telescope has been selected as the pilot for this, but the software is modular and individually parameterizable, meaning it can be used for almost any telescope in the world. The intention is to make better use of the existing infrastructure and thus increase the protection of our planet.These two areas (software development and control engineering) fascinate me and I want to delve further into them.
