Softgames is one of the leading HTML5 game providers in the world. While working there I was involved in many different projects including backend development for our legacy system in Ruby on Rails and creating embeddable widgets that allowed people to add our games easily to their website. For a year or so I was mostly focused on front end development, updating our game portal as well as creating a generic multiplayer overlay for our games. In the recent year I have moved more to backend projects that I have written and maintained by myself for the most part. Including a Facebook Bot Messaging service and a Facebook user management/access manager service. All new projects that were started during my time there were written a 100% in javascript using node.js.

Iceland

At TM Software, one of the fastest growing IT companies in Iceland I worked on one of themost sold Atlassian JIRA plugins in the world, Tempo. I worked in two scrum teams duringmy time there. Tempo Timesheets, which was the first of the Tempo products and TempoBooks, their newest addition. I entered the Books team very early on in development andwas one of the lead developers on the team taking active part in everything from design tofront and back end coding. Most of the coding was done in Java and Javascript.

Iceland

Þórshamar is one of the biggest and most respected Karate Clubs in Iceland and has won a lot of championships in Iceland since it was created in 1979. I have been a trainer there since I was fifteen and have since then taught every group in the dojo, from six to seventy year olds, white belts to black belts. Since I was often teaching people that were much older than me, It helped me increase my confidence as well as social skills and public speaking.

Me and two other trainers at Þórshamar organized a summer course for children, where we worked with children between the age of six and twelve teaching them karate as well as playing games and going on fieldtrips. These were a great success and got our club a lot of new practitioners.

I wanted to try working abroad so I found a job at a subway in Hamburg, where I made sandwiches as well as cleaning and opening and closing the restaurant.
