About Malwine Steinbock

I make things happen.With one opportunity at a time to make a positive impact, I work with brands I believe in and people I admire. I am passionate about products and solutions that impact a large number of people and improve their lives, while having a social and environmental impact. I connect multi-functional teams to deliver successful products, campaigns and out-of-the-box solutions helping to develop projects from the idea stage, shape strategy and business models, product and user experience, go-to-market and growth strategies. After my learning years as account director and strategic planner in advertising for global and local CPG brands, I co-founded Cookbooth, a platform that connects culinary professionals, food brands and foodies through a tool designed to manage, promote and sell step-by-step photo recipes. In summer 2014, as part of a disruptive innovation program in Silicon Valley, I participated in the initial concept and prototype of Wesura, a P2P insurance market place based on the principles of the sharing economy. Working with the founding team up to its launch, Wesura is available in Colombia since early 2016 and part of Suramericana's innovation portfolio.Applying innovation and startup methodologies ever since, I’ve worked with companies to design and run open Innovation programs in the food tech ecosystem.In 2017 I co-founded Food Republik - a Food, Tech and Design Agency - where we specialize in product innovation and creating the food and beverage brands of the future.We are open to collaborate in exciting projects. The overall theme of the EXPO was “Feeding the Planet and Energy for Life”, putting the challenge of feeding 9bn people at the center of the World’s Expo.At the core of the Innovation Program was a Business Accelerator with ten carefully selected entrepreneurial teams each addressing challenges around the future of food and the food industry.I had the opportunity to work with and get mentored by names such as Mitchell Davis, Executive Vice President of the James Beard Foundation, Dorothy Hamilton, Founder of The International Culinary Center, Ambassador Douglas T. Hickey, among others and build a strong network with other food innovators from the US and around the globe.

    Imagine Silicon Valley is a creativity program that identifies problems and suggests world changing solutions. During the program, multidisciplinary teams work on disruptive innovation projects in the Silicon Valley environment for one month. The participants have the support of experts from companies such as Google, Dropbox, Waze and Chartboost, and participate in networking events, outdoor activities and mentoring sessions from Stanford University. The results are presented in a public event at the end of each edition and are permanently exhibited in the center's showroom.I worked on a project to disrupt the insurance market, making insurance accessible to the 94% of the world’s population that is currently uninsured.
