As a Behavioral Health Technician at Connect and Care, I provide therapy and behavioral intervention to children with autism and other developmental disabilities. I use evidence-based practices and techniques to help them improve their communication, social, and adaptive skills, and to reduce their challenging behaviors. I have been working in this field for over two years, and I am passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of my clients and their families. I am currently pursuing a Bachelors of Applied Science in Psychology at Capella University, where I am learning more about the theories and principles of human behavior and development. I also have a background in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Bryan University, and a diploma in Legal Executive Administration from Katharine Gibbs School. I have a strong interest in the intersection of physical and mental health, and how they affect each other. I am also keen on exploring the legal and ethical aspects of behavioral health care, and how to advocate for the rights and needs of my clients. My core competencies include therapy, behavioral intervention, behavioral therapy, communication, collaboration, and empathy. I am always eager to learn new skills and expand my knowledge in this field. My goal is to become a certified and licensed behavior analyst, and to continue to provide high-quality and compassionate care to my clients and the families which I have the pleasure to be of service to.
