The Mama Mare Breast Cancer Foundation's mission is to support and assist breast cancer patients and their families as well as raise funds for biomedical research in search of a cure. 1/3 of what we raise is donated to the research conducted by David Vesely, MD, a pioneer in cancer treatment studies. Dr. Vesely received the America’s Career Achievement Medal in 2007, the Richard A. Kern Award in 2008, and is a Distinguished Scientist Award recipient.We have endowed the Mama Mare Breast Cancer Foundation's Healing and Education Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ which houses a cancer boutique where patients have access to free wigs and fittings provided by the American Cancer Society. This serene space also allows patients to escape the feel of the hospital with their families and enjoy the flat screen TV, faux fireplace as well as HP Elite Tablets that we've donated for patient and family use. We have also given a $45,000 grant to Robert Wood to update all of the televisions within their infusion room at the Cancer Institute of NJ.
