As a Sales Assistant at WHSmith within the airport environment, I hold an important role in ensuring a great customer experience when visiting Leeds Bradford airport. My job composes of various roles:1. Customer Service and operating the point of service systems are one of the more important roles which includes assisting customers with their purchases, processing transactions, and addressing inquiries or concerns effectively to enhance their shopping experience.2. Stock Management and organisation is another important role which consists of ensuring products are well organised, restocked, and presented in an appealing manner. 3. Maintaining a clean and safe environment by regular cleaning activities, ensuring the store is tidy, well-maintained, and free from hazards.4. Managing stock deliveries is a key part of the role, particularly within the airport setting. This involves coordinating the delivery of stock and ensuring it complies with airport security protocols by escorting stock through airport security systems.5. Working collaboratively with other team members, maintaining good communication, and assisting in tasks that contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the store. This is a crucial responsibility due to the airport having 3 stores in which team communication is a vital ingredient for success.Working at WHSmith in an airport is a very rewarding experience as it has helped in developing my skills as I have adapted to working in a very fast-pace and demanding environment whilst ensuring I do not over extend myself by being able to rely on my team.

My role at White Rose ice rink was compromised of various roles which all contributed to creating a safe and enjoyable environment for customers. These roles included:1. shoe and skate exchange which involved assisting customers in transitioning from their regular shoes to ice skates, whilst making sure they had fastened them properly before heading onto the ice as to avoid injury. 2. Maintaining a safe environment by monitoring the skating area, making sure it was free from obstacles or hazards, and enforcing safety protocols to prevent accidents such as making sure everyone was skating in one direction. 3. Being present on the ice rink to oversee skaters, offering help or guidance as needed due to many people having their first ice skating experience in this ice rink. I also made sure that if anyone had potentially injured themselves by falling down, were safe and if injured, making sure medical staff were alerted.4. Regular inspection, organisation and upkeep of the skating equipment and skating aids. This involved checking customer height to see if it was safe for them to hire a skating aid.5. Providing exceptional customer service which included answering inquiries, addressing customer concerns or issues, and maintaining a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to enhance the overall experience for visitors.Overall the experience I had working at the ice rink was very rewarding as I developed many important skills whilst also making sure I had a great time working there.
